What I'm up to these days:
My 20-minute piece for Washington National Opera, written with librettist Megan Cohen, had a successful premiere at the Kennedy Center in January 2018, and will be staged again in November by Hartford Opera Theater. (You can find more info about the work here.)
I recently made my debut with the Grammy-nominated Clarion Choir, joining a chorus of monks in a performance with pop superstar Madonna at the 2018 Met Gala! Read about it in: Billboard, Vogue, Time, Vanity Fair (1, 2, 3), New York Times, E! Online. Watch the official video on YouTube, or this multi-angle compilation sourced from attendees' Instagram clips, e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).
"Someone Like Me (L'opera di Facebook)" has so far been viewed over 5k times on YouTube! I wrote the score, and the screenplay is by Adam Taylor, writer/director of "The Tinder Opera." (You can find all the production details on IMDb.) We've recorded and shot another opera film project, an Amish-themed romantic comedy--stay tuned...
The Women in Comedy Festival in Boston recently hosted the premiere screening of The Shape of Destiny, for which I wrote and supervised the music.
Having earned my MM degree from Mannes/The New School last year, I'm currently singing in the Choir of Men and Boys at Saint Thomas Church, serving as Editorial Assistant at Boosey & Hawkes and as a Company Assistant at the Center for Contemporary Opera.
